The Community Collaboration Process

Our 2029 and Beyond Project aims to to work with our community to develop plans and strategies that will guide the future of our City.

To find out more about this process, see the documents below.

Turing the curve diagram

We know that our community wants to be more sustainable into the future but as this Turning the Curve chart shows we just can’t keep doing the same thing in terms of sustainability and expect a different result. It simply won’t happen.

If we want to turn the curve to a more sustainable future, we will have to DO something different NOW.

The How the Curve is Turned circle diagram shows WHAT we are doing differently:

  •  We are providing opportunities for the community to collaboratively problem solve and create a more sustainable future – ie developing a ‘deliberative community’.
  • We are also providing opportunities for the community, government and industry to work together to jointly prioritise and action strategies that will make us more sustainable ie developing ‘collaborative governance’.

By doing both these things together we will help the community and region become more resilient (able to respond to challenges and opportunities as they arise) and more sustainable.
